"What an amazing visit we had from Kaela to our 2nd-6th graders! Not only did she entertain the students with her stories, but she also inspired and encouraged them.  They were engaged like I've never seen, very attentive, and left with smiles on their faces. The biggest win? They are excited about reading and writing!  The 5th and 6th graders stayed for the writing workshop she offered, and it was time well spent. She walked them through choosing a theme, creating a strong main character, and talking about conflicts they may face.  They wrote at each step, and she had volunteers share their ideas. It was shocking how many were willing to share- some that are never engaged- were laser focused.  She was encouraging and positives to individuals and as a group. We have several aspiring authors now, and this librarian could not be happier!
