Testimonials
"This was such an amazing assembly. We had a district visitor during the assembly, and she mentioned numerous times how great the content was. The students were completely engaged and every student, regardless of grade level, understood the importance of growth mindset, doing hard things, and never giving up. The writing workshop with our 5th and 6th graders was exceptional. I saw students do things they didn't think they were capable of doing. It was incredible to watch. Thank you, Kaela!"

"I absolutely LOVED the assembly, and especially the Writer’s Workshop. In fact, during the writer’s portion, I witnessed a legit miracle. A girl in my class who has struggled MIGHTILY with academics and ATTITUDE, blossomed—right in front of my eyes. She watched with rapt attention as a beautiful woman, who looks just like her WITH THE EXACT SAME LAST NAME, commanded the room and demonstrated skill and proficiency in writing and presenting. She became a writer in that moment! She became engaged with the process and wrote and wrote and wrote! Since then, she has turned around in class. She cares about her spelling and writing. She wants to read. I am thrilled with the positive changes I am seeing, and it is all because of the assembly—and the impact of Kaela."

"What an amazing visit we had from Kaela to our 2nd-6th graders! Not only did she entertain the students with her stories, but she also inspired and encouraged them. They were engaged like I've never seen, very attentive, and left with smiles on their faces. The biggest win? They are excited about reading and writing! The 5th and 6th graders stayed for the writing workshop she offered, and it was time well spent. She walked them through choosing a theme, creating a strong main character, and talking about conflicts they may face. They wrote at each step, and she had volunteers share their ideas. It was shocking how many were willing to share--some that are never engaged--were laser focused. She was encouraging and positive to individuals and the group. We have several aspiring authors now, and this librarian could not be happier!

"The writing workshop really gave the students the boost they needed to care about their writing. The story she told about not liking writing at first made her very relatable. The theme worksheet that she left with us was a perfect reminder and follow up for our in-class work. The best comment from a student, "That was RAD!""

"I loved Kaela’s presentation! Ms. Rivera’s stories about growth mindset were very relatable and shared in a delightfully charming way. Our grade had recently finished a unit about growth mindset and when Kaela mentioned that term in her presentation, I had multiple excited eyes looking toward me because they knew what exactly she was talking about. Thank you for a wonderful author talk!!!!!"
